Rising seas accelerate

In recent years, satellite records of global sea level had shown the rate of rise decreasing, despite increasing melting of glaciers and the polar ice sheets. Now, researchers say, that trend was caused by problems with an old satellite data set, collected in the 1990s. After correcting it, scientists found that sea-level rise has actually accelerated during the 21st century, in agreement with model predictions. Read more in my story for Science.
